Train Traffic Briefly Halted at Copenhagen Central Station Due to Stabbing

Train traffic at Copenhagen Central Station was briefly suspended early Saturday morning following a stabbing in the H17 drug consumption room on Halmtorvet. According to Copenhagen Police duty officer Jesper Frandsen, the suspension was implemented due to concerns that the perpetrator might attempt to flee by train.

The stabbing occurred in the H17 drug consumption room on Halmtorvet in Copenhagen. Police received a report of the incident shortly after 6:00 AM.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, sustained a single stab wound to the chest. Authorities announced at noon on Saturday that he is no longer in danger.

After a search lasting a couple of hours, police apprehended a suspect in connection with the stabbing. The suspect is being charged with aggravated assault.

H17, situated in a former slaughterhouse in Kødbyen, is operated by Mændenes Hjem. As the largest drug consumption room in the Nordic region, H17 was established in 2016 with the goal of moving drug use off the streets and into a safer environment.
