David Jarsbo Acquitted in Prize Money Dispute with Ex-Girlfriend

David Jarsbo, a former winner of “Paradise Hotel,” has been acquitted in a legal battle regarding whether he should share his prize money with his ex-girlfriend and former co-participant, Sille Nimholm. The Western High Court announced the decision on Tuesday.

The dispute originated four years ago when Sille Nimholm claimed she was promised half of the 500,000 kroner prize that David Jarsbo won when they jointly won the reality show in 2021. During the final’s loyalty test, Jarsbo chose to keep the entire prize money for himself.

Nimholm alleged that she had been promised half of the winnings. The case also involved accusations of infidelity, drug abuse, and broken promises. After the final, Jarsbo initially told several media outlets that he and Nimholm would “of course share the money” upon their return to Denmark. However, he reportedly changed his mind after their breakup.

Following their separation, Nimholm made accusations against Jarsbo, including claims of infidelity and drug abuse. This led to a defamation component in the civil lawsuit.

Last year, the Court in Aarhus initially ruled in favor of Nimholm, determining that she was entitled to a portion of the prize money. The court ordered David Jarsbo to pay 107,500 kroner to his ex-girlfriend, a decision he subsequently appealed to the High Court.

Nimholm had sought half of the 500,000 kroner prize. Jarsbo, in turn, demanded 50,000 kroner from her for defamation.

The Western High Court’s recent ruling resolves the case, acquitting Jarsbo. Furthermore, Sille Nimholm is now required to pay 20,000 kroner to David Jarsbo as compensation for non-pecuniary damage.
