Police are currently conducting investigations in two locations, Vejen and Brørup, as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of a 42-year-old Polish man. The man was discovered dead in Københoved, a village in South Jutland, in March.
The South and Sønderjylland Police have stated that three men are currently in custody, charged with the murder of the Polish man and indecent handling of a corpse.
The police are using specialized dog patrols in their search. “Today, dog patrols are investigating the area around a lake in northern Brørup,” stated Deputy Police Inspector Brian Skovrup Christensen. “When we were at the scene last week, we had water search dogs and divers at the scene.” He added, “Today, we are also investigating the area around the lake with patrol dogs and burial dogs. At the same time, we are also investigating the crime scene in Vejen with dogs.” Københoved is situated within Vejen Municipality.
The results gathered from these investigations will be incorporated into the existing case file.
Deputy Police Inspector Christensen assured the public that there is no cause for alarm. “We do not suspect that there are more victims in the case, even though we used water search dogs last week. For example, the dogs can also mark on objects that have been in contact with deceased persons,” he clarified.
Out of respect for the victim’s family and the integrity of the investigation, further details are not being disclosed at this time.
The individuals arrested in connection with the case are aged 27, 32, and 40.
