The number of bankruptcies in Denmark decreased in June, continuing a downward trend observed in recent years. According to Statistics Denmark, 178 active companies declared bankruptcy after seasonal adjustments.

This represents a 24.5 percent drop compared to May. The second quarter, considered as a whole, saw an 8 percent reduction in bankruptcies compared to the first quarter.

The bankruptcies in June resulted in the loss of 1145 jobs. While the industrial and construction sectors accounted for a significant proportion of the job losses, all sectors were affected to varying degrees.

Statistics Denmark defines active companies as those with more than one employee and a turnover of at least one million kroner.
