Roskilde Festival experienced its hottest day ever on Wednesday, with temperatures reaching 32.2 degrees Celsius. This marks a new record for the festival, which began in 1971.
According to climatologist Frans Rubek from the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), the previous record was set in 2019 when the temperature reached 32.0 degrees Celsius. The record temperature was recorded at Roskilde Airport, located near the festival site.
DMI believes that this measurement is representative of the conditions at the festival area. Approximately 130,000 people are expected to attend the 53rd edition of the music festival.
