Two Men Jailed for Violent Robbery of Sex Worker in Copenhagen

Two men have been remanded in custody following the violent robbery of a 35-year-old female sex worker in Copenhagen. The incident occurred on May 19 in Valby, where the woman was attacked and robbed of her mobile phone and 1000 euros.

The two suspects, aged 18 and 23, appeared at Frederiksberg Court on Thursday. They are accused of using pepper spray, a baton, and a knife to subdue the victim during the robbery.

According to Copenhagen Police, the 18-year-old had arranged a meeting with the woman at her apartment under the pretense of paying for sex. He then claimed he didn’t have sufficient funds and would call a friend. Shortly after, a group of masked men entered the apartment and subjected the woman to severe violence before stealing her belongings.

Both men have pleaded not guilty. The custody hearing was held behind closed doors, so further details are unavailable to the public.

Police Commissioner Poul Hansen from Copenhagen Police believes there may be more victims. Authorities are appealing to other sex workers who may have had similar encounters with the group to come forward. “We have reason to believe that the group of perpetrators has committed or attempted to commit more robberies than we are currently aware of,” Hansen stated in a press release.
