Risk of Heavy Rain and Cloudbursts in Southern Denmark

The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) has issued a risk notification for heavy rain and potential cloudbursts affecting the South Funen archipelago, South Zealand, Lolland, and Falster tonight. This risk is expected to extend to the rest of Zealand later in the night.

A risk notification is one level below an actual warning from DMI. A cloudburst is defined as more than 15 millimeters of rain falling within a 30-minute period.

The anticipated rainfall is attributed to a low-pressure area forming over the Netherlands and Belgium during the day. This low-pressure system is predicted to move northeast and impact Denmark late this afternoon or early this evening.
