FC Midtjylland has the opportunity to secure its fifth Danish championship and earn the right to display a star above their club logo, a significant milestone in the club’s 26-year history. The team’s experienced goalkeeper, Jonas Lössl, emphasized the importance of potentially adding the first star to FCM’s jersey.
To claim the championship, FC Midtjylland needs to win their match against Randers while hoping that FC Copenhagen falters in their game against FC Nordsjælland. Currently, FC Midtjylland trails FC Copenhagen by one point in the league standings.
Ten Danish clubs already have the privilege of displaying stars above their logos, with each star representing five championship titles. FC Copenhagen and its predecessor KB lead with three stars each (15 championships), followed by Brøndby with two stars (11 championships). AB, B.93, B1903, Frem, Esbjerg, AGF, and Vejle each have one star.
For FC Midtjylland, achieving this milestone would be a source of pride for the entire club, especially for those who have been associated with the team for a long time. Their first Danish championship was won in 2015.
