Odense Boldklub (OB) clinched promotion to the Superliga after a single season in the second division, securing first place in the 1st division during the final round of matches. The team defeated Esbjerg 4-2, propelled by two early goals from their leading scorer, Luca Kjerrumgaard.
The victory occurred on Friday, concluding the season on a high note for the Funen team. Esbjerg finished sixth in the promotion play-offs.
FC Fredericia, the other promoted team, finished one point behind OB, securing a 2-0 victory in their match. The match between Hvidovre and Horsens ended in a 1-1 draw.
Luca Kjerrumgaard, who had a significant lead in the top scorer standings before the final matches, cemented his position by scoring twice against Esbjerg, bringing his total to 22 goals for the season. His two goals occurred between the 18th and 22nd minutes.
The match was effectively decided by halftime, with OB leading 3-0. Esbjerg improved their performance after the break, but it was not enough to change the outcome. The game also marked Lars “Lungi” Sørensen’s last match as head coach for Esbjerg.
Fredericia’s Gustav Marcussen finished second in the top scorer list with 16 goals. FC Roskilde and Vendsyssel were previously confirmed to be relegated to the 2nd division.
