A 17-year-old boy has died after an accident in the Gudenåen river near Ulstrup. East Jutland Police reported the incident on X, stating that the boy was found lifeless in the river shortly before noon on Tuesday in connection with a fishing trip.

Police do not suspect any criminal activity based on preliminary investigations. The boy’s relatives have been notified.

Helgenæs Naturefterskole has identified the deceased as one of their students. The school is providing crisis support to students and staff and has obtained professional assistance. They have also notified the relatives of the 17-year-old and the parents of other students at the school.

According to reports, the 17-year-old had stayed by the river a little longer than the other students during the fishing trip and was later discovered lifeless in the water. He was flown to a hospital by helicopter after being found. East Jutland Police will not be releasing any further information about the accident at this time.
