A fire at Suldrup Ældrecenter Himmerlandshave nursing home in Suldrup, Himmerland, prompted the evacuation of all residents and staff on Saturday. According to North Jutland Police duty officer Torben Arendrup, no injuries have been reported.

The fire, which broke out in the roof construction of the elder care facility, is currently being battled by North Jutland Emergency Services. The fire is running under the roof tiles, making it difficult to control.

Roofing work, including torch-on roofing felt, had recently been conducted on the building, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Initially, a fire truck with a sprayer and a water tanker were dispatched from the fire station in Støvring. Subsequently, assistance was requested from fire stations in Aars, Nibe, and Aalborg, as the roof structure became fully engulfed.

Suldrup Ældrecenter has a capacity of 30 residents, with 21 two-room apartments and 9 one-room apartments, along with communal areas such as living rooms and café areas.
