A fire at Suldrup Ældrecenter Himmerlandshave nursing home in Suldrup, Himmerland, prompted a full evacuation of the facility on Saturday. All residents and staff were safely evacuated, and no injuries have been reported.

North Jutland Emergency Services are currently working to extinguish the blaze, which is affecting the roof structure. The fire is reportedly spreading beneath the roof tiles, posing a challenge for firefighters.

Authorities dispatched emergency crews from Støvring and Aars to the scene. The Støvring fire station received the initial alarm at 13:31.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Roof work, including torch-on roofing, had recently been performed on the building, but it remains unconfirmed whether this contributed to the incident.

Suldrup Ældrecenter Himmerlandshave can accommodate 30 residents in 21 two-room apartments and 9 one-room apartments, according to Plejehjemsoversigten. The facility also features common areas for residents, including living rooms and café areas.
