A 16-year-old boy has been remanded in custody until July 1 following a stabbing in Gunnekær, Rødovre, where a 19-year-old man was injured. The victim sustained a punctured lung and a stab wound to his thigh.

The incident occurred on Friday evening, prompting a swift response from Copenhagen West Police, who apprehended the 16-year-old shortly after arriving on the scene. While another individual was initially arrested, they were later released after investigation cleared them of involvement.

Authorities believe that multiple perpetrators were involved in the stabbing and are actively seeking accomplices. Due to the ongoing investigation, the preliminary hearing on Saturday was held behind closed doors to prevent potential compromise.

The 16-year-old pleads not guilty to the charges of gross violence under the Penal Code, but accepted the court’s decision to remain in custody. Because of his age, he will be held in a secure youth institution rather than a prison or detention center for adults.
