TV 2 has been ordered to hand over raw footage from its documentary series “The Black Swan” due to its potential significance in a case against a lawyer. The Eastern High Court affirmed this decision on Friday, upholding a prior ruling by the Court in Lyngby.
Lawyer René Offersen, representing lawyer Nicolai Dyhr, requested limited access to TV 2’s material for a case before the Disciplinary Board for Lawyers. Dyhr was prominently featured in “The Black Swan” and filmed with a hidden camera in various scenarios.
The Danish Bar and Law Society initiated a case against Dyhr following the documentary’s release. They are seeking to temporarily strip him of his right to practice law, citing his actions in “The Black Swan” as part of the charges.
Offersen argued that access to the journalists’ raw footage is essential for Dyhr’s defense, and the courts have now sided with him on this matter.
