Danish National Team Announced for Copenhagen Sprint

The Danish national team, led by Michael Mørkøv, has announced its seven-rider squad for the inaugural Copenhagen Sprint World Tour race on June 22nd. The team aims to leave a significant impression on the race from beginning to end, according to Mørkøv.

Alexander Salby, a 27-year-old sprinter, was selected on Friday, completing the team. Salby has secured five victories in Asian races this spring for the Li Ning Star team.

He will be joined by Kasper Asgreen (EF), Casper Pedersen (Quick-Step), and the reigning Danish champion Rasmus Søjberg (AG2R), all of whom were previously selected. Rounding out the team are track cycling specialist Niklas Larsen (BHS-PL Beton Bornholm), Joshua Gudnitz (Team ColoQuick), and Mads Andersen (AirTox – Carl Ras).

The first edition of the Copenhagen Sprint will cover a 236-kilometer course starting in Roskilde and finishing with circuits in Copenhagen. The women’s race will take place on Saturday, June 21st, covering a distance of 152 kilometers. Besides the national team riders, several other Danish cyclists from various teams are expected to participate, excluding teams like EF and Quick-Step.
