Danish cyclist Andreas Kron is facing uncertainty regarding his participation in the upcoming Tour de France, as confirmed by his team, Uno-X.
Kron was sent home from the Critérium du Dauphiné due to recurring back problems. These issues are believed to stem from a crash he experienced during last year’s Vuelta a España.
Sports director Christian Andersen told TV 2 Sport that the situation does not appear promising for Kron’s Tour de France chances. “Unfortunately, it looks difficult for him,” Andersen stated. He added that they will continue to monitor Kron’s condition and hope for a positive outcome.
The Tour de France is scheduled to begin in Lille on July 5th and conclude with a parade on the Champs-Élysées in Paris on July 27th. Kron’s team will be closely monitoring his recovery to determine his availability for the prestigious race.
