Vejle Boldklub has announced that Steffen Kielstrup and Johnny Mølby will not be appointed as the club’s permanent coaches. This decision comes despite the pair successfully saving the team from relegation from the Superliga.

The club communicated the decision on its website, stating that they will be pursuing a new direction for the head coach position.

Steffen Kielstrup expressed his disappointment with the outcome of the assessment made by sports director Mikkel Hemmersam. Kielstrup had hoped to be considered for the head coach role.

He has been offered the position of assistant coach within the new structure. He is currently considering his options and what the best path forward will be. Kielstrup has requested time to contemplate the offer and will make a decision regarding his future after the spring season concludes.

Mikkel Hemmersam stated that the decision is part of a larger plan to restructure the sports sector at Vejle Boldklub. The aim is to enhance the club’s competitiveness in the coming years. Hemmersam clarified that this decision is not a rejection of Steffen Kielstrup and that he values him as a member of the staff. The sports director believes that a new head coach and staff are needed to further develop the team’s playing style, transition, and player sales.
