A 51-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court in Aarhus on Thursday morning on suspicion of holding a 61-year-old man against his will. The incident allegedly occurred over a period of less than 24 hours.
East Jutland Police announced via social media platform X that the deprivation of liberty allegedly involved an unidentified accomplice.
The victim was reportedly subjected to violence, threats, and extortion, according to police reports.
The East Jutland Police’s indictment indicates that the alleged unlawful imprisonment took place at two separate locations in Viby J, near Aarhus.
Authorities state that the 61-year-old victim was purportedly held captive from the evening of April 12th until the afternoon of April 13th.
The prosecution intends to request that the court proceedings be closed to the public.
If the judge grants the request to close the doors, details regarding the 51-year-old’s testimony and the evidence held by the police will not be accessible to the public.
