Independent MP Jon Stephensen is attending group meetings with the Moderates party, despite previously being ousted in disgrace. Chairman Lars Løkke Rasmussen confirmed this arrangement, stating he finds Stephensen’s outside perspective valuable.

Stephensen, who is not a member of the Moderates, was previously told he had no future in the party. Rasmussen had bluntly conveyed this message when Stephensen was forced to leave.

While Rasmussen acknowledges Stephensen’s presence at group meetings, he maintains that Stephensen “plays no role in the Moderates.” He clarified that Stephensen is permitted to observe the meetings, and Rasmussen has found his observations on the party beneficial.

When pressed for the reason behind Stephensen’s return to the party room, Rasmussen ended the conversation and walked away. This leaves the exact nature and purpose of Stephensen’s involvement unclear.
