A 50-year-old man killed his 42-year-old wife before taking his own life at their home in Allerød on Wednesday evening. The couple had two children who are now being cared for by social services and the wife’s family.
Police confirmed the man used a pistol in the incident, which occurred at their residence on Statenevej. Authorities were alerted to the situation shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, initially investigating a suspicious circumstance.
The North Zealand Police are investigating the man’s possible connection to a shooting club. The man was a member of the Home Guard.
The police have not yet confirmed whether the pistol was related to the man’s involvement in the Home Guard. The man was a middle manager at a large corporation, and his wife was a senior consultant.
Following technical investigations and forensic autopsies on Thursday morning, police released details about the tragic event. The police have not commented on a possible motive, and the investigation is ongoing.
