Duferco Danish Steel A/S in Frederiksværk will cease steel production, resulting in the layoff of 124 out of its 130 employees. The decision, announced to employees on April 29, comes after negotiations with trade unions.
CEO Guiliano Bo confirmed the closure with regret on behalf of the Duferco Group. The majority of layoffs are expected to occur between May 29 and June 11.
The steelworks will continue to fulfill existing orders, empty warehouses, and dispatch materials to customers in the coming months. A limited number of employees will remain on site to manage the responsible closure of operations.
