The Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary’s Foundation has donated DKK 1.6 million to 16 different projects, supporting a range of causes from vulnerable children to veterans and victims of violence.
The Royal House’s website details that the grants, distributed through the foundation, will benefit initiatives such as holiday camps for vulnerable children, summer camps for veterans, and counseling for women who have experienced violence.
A significant portion, DKK 250,000, has been allocated to the Youth Red Cross to facilitate holiday camps for vulnerable children and young people.
The Danish Sports Federation will receive DKK 100,000 to support its soldier project, which organizes summer camps for veterans.
The Greenlandic Society has been granted DKK 50,000 for the publication of the journal Grønland.
Additional organizations receiving support include the Morgencafé Foundation for the Homeless, Børns Vilkår, the Alzheimer’s Association, the Association for Children Affected by Cancer, and the Salvation Army.
The foundation, with the King as chairman of the board and the Queen as a member, aims to support humanitarian, social, cultural, scientific, sports, educational, charitable, and philanthropic purposes.
Morten Roland Hansen serves as the foundation director, overseeing its administration.
The foundation accepts applications for support but may also distribute funds without prior application.
In the previous year, the foundation distributed DKK 1.3 million to 12 projects, with the Youth Red Cross also being among the beneficiaries.
