Tyrannosaurus Rex Skeleton Displayed in Danish Safari Park

Knuthenborg Park and Safari is exhibiting a Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton composed of 293 real bones. The skeleton, named Trinity, will be on display at the park’s evolution museum starting Thursday and throughout the 2025 season.

The Trinity fossil, comprising bones believed to be 67 million years old, is on loan from The Phoebus Foundation, a Belgian art foundation that acquired it for over 40 million kroner at a Swiss auction in 2023.

The assembled skeleton measures 11 meters in length and 4.4 meters in height. Its transportation required two trucks, and assembly took approximately three days.

With the addition of Trinity, the Evolution Museum now showcases all five of the “big five” dinosaurs, including Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Camarasaurus, and Archaeopteryx.

Park director Christoffer Knuth emphasized the significance of the exhibit, stating, “It’s not just a dinosaur – it’s the superstar of dinosaurs, which millions know from films, games, and books.”

This marks the second time a real-bone T. rex skeleton has been exhibited in Denmark; in 2020, the T. rex Tristan Otto was displayed at the Natural History Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen.
