Skive, from the 1st division, initially surprised Grindsted with a 32-31 away win in the first playoff match. However, Skive failed to capitalize on their home advantage in the second game, needing only a draw to secure the league spot.

In the second match, Grindsted established an early lead, taking a 17-15 advantage into halftime, despite Skive’s persistence. Skive briefly took the lead at 25-24 in the second half, but Grindsted responded strongly.

With ten minutes remaining, Hjalmar Andersen’s goal extended Grindsted’s lead to 28-25. Skive’s subsequent timeout and missed penalty further cemented Grindsted’s momentum.

Ultimately, Skive struggled to contain Grindsted’s offense in the closing stages. Martin Risom of Grindsted led all scorers with 11 goals from 13 attempts. The winner of Sunday’s match will claim the 14th and final position in the league for the upcoming season.
