A 29-year-old man is in the hospital with serious stab wounds after an incident Friday evening on the E45 motorway at the junction with the E39, just north of Aalborg. The incident led to a brief closure of the motorway as police investigated.

Police were initially called to the scene at 9:41 PM in response to a traffic accident. Simultaneously, they received reports of a stabbing at the same location.

Upon arrival, they discovered the 29-year-old man in the emergency lane with serious stab wounds. Authorities believe the traffic accident and the stabbing are connected. The hypothesis is that two vehicles were involved in aggressive driving, potentially pressuring each other or colliding.

Authorities are unsure if any arrests have been made. It is also unconfirmed if the victim himself reported the stabbing. Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the man’s involvement in the traffic accident and the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

Police are appealing to the public for information. Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious around 9:40 PM at the junction of the E39 and E45 is urged to contact the police at 114.

The motorway was reopened at 00:30 on Saturday after the investigation and removal of the vehicles.
