Motorists traveling on the Holbæk motorway near Roskilde should expect delays this Friday afternoon due to traffic congestion related to the annual Roskilde Animal Fair.

The Danish Road Directorate reported traffic jams near Roskilde as of noon on Friday. The animal fair, which runs from Friday to Sunday, is drawing significant crowds.

Queues are forming in both directions leading to motorway exit 12 Roskilde S. Additionally, Route 6 from Køge towards Roskilde is experiencing delays from Snoldelev and into Roskilde.

The Roskilde Animal Fair, billed as Denmark’s largest, anticipates the heaviest traffic on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Visitors arriving by car are advised to allow for extra travel time throughout the weekend.
