Inadequate Security at Danish Military Bases Persists Despite Repeated Warnings

For five consecutive years, the Danish Defence Intelligence Service (Forsvarets Efterretningstjeneste) has reported inadequate security at Danish military bases, potentially exposing vital weapons and secrets to espionage, sabotage, and criminal activity. These warnings, issued annually from 2020 to 2024, were approved by the Chief of Defence before being escalated to the Ministry of Defence (Forsvarsministeriet).

The consistent reports highlight a persistent vulnerability within the Danish military infrastructure. The intelligence service’s findings suggest a systemic issue that could compromise national security.

The reports, repeated over several years, emphasize the urgency of addressing these security deficiencies. The potential consequences of these vulnerabilities include the compromise of sensitive information, the theft of weaponry, and acts of sabotage.

Despite repeated notifications, the security flaws have remained unaddressed, raising concerns about the effectiveness of the response to these critical warnings.
