FC Midtjylland has finalized the sale of Czech Republic international striker Jan Kuchta back to Sparta Prague. The Danish club confirmed the transfer on its website, marking the end of Kuchta’s brief return to FCM.
Kuchta initially joined FC Midtjylland last summer, but after a relatively unproductive stint, he was loaned back to his former club, Sparta Prague, in January where he seemingly rediscovered his form. He played 16 games for FCM, scoring two goals.
“Kuchta is a strong profile, as his career testifies,” FCM’s football director, Peter Sand, stated when the loan was arranged in January. “He has always scored goals and delivered assists in the Czech Republic. Therefore, we were very pleased that we brought him in the summer, but must also admit that we have not jointly lived up to expectations.”
FC Midtjylland will reportedly receive approximately 25 million kroner for the 28-year-old Kuchta. This translates to a small profit for the club, considering they acquired him for 20 million kroner last summer.
