Clara Tauson Reaches Career-High Ranking

Clara Tauson has achieved a career-high ranking of world number 12 in the latest WTA rankings update. The Danish tennis star’s ascent comes despite an early exit from the US Open.

Tauson’s rise in the rankings is attributed to her strong performance throughout the year. She started the year ranked 50th and has since won a tournament in Auckland, reached the final of the WTA 1000 event in Dubai, made it to the round of 16 at Wimbledon, and reached the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Montreal.

Along the way, Tauson has secured victories against top-ranked players. She has defeated opponents such as Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Madison Keys, and Emma Navarro.

Meanwhile, Caroline Wozniacki is no longer listed in the rankings. The former world number one has not accumulated any points since her appearance at last year’s US Open.

Wozniacki, who gave birth to her third child earlier this year, has not yet announced her future career plans. While she mentioned not ruling out a return to professional tennis, she has not confirmed any comeback plans.

Wozniacki initially retired in early 2020, but announced a comeback which was realized a few weeks later. Her best results since her return include reaching the round of 16 at the US Open twice and the quarter-finals at Indian Wells in March 2024.
