Copenhagen Municipality’s Health Administration Refuses Information in Neglect Case

The Health and Care Administration in the Municipality of Copenhagen has repeatedly declined to provide crucial information to the citizens’ watchdog regarding a case of neglect at a local nursing home. This lack of transparency raises concerns about accountability and the well-being of vulnerable residents.

The case centers around an independent nursing home in Copenhagen where serious deficiencies were discovered. Elderly residents were found living in unsanitary conditions, including accommodations with old feces and urine-soaked beds. These conditions highlight a failure to provide adequate care and maintain a safe living environment.

The citizens’ watchdog, responsible for ensuring transparency and accountability in public services, sought information from the Health and Care Administration to investigate the matter thoroughly. However, the administration repeatedly refused to release essential details, hindering the watchdog’s ability to fully assess the situation and identify necessary corrective measures.

Adding to the concern, the administration is also accused of providing misleading information about the independent nursing home. This further obstructs efforts to understand the full extent of the neglect and implement appropriate solutions to protect the residents. The refusal to cooperate and the alleged provision of misleading information raise questions about the administration’s commitment to transparency and the well-being of the elderly residents under their care.
