A record-breaking 21,214 citizens participated in the “Open Hospital” event held across Denmark’s five regions on Sunday. This marks the highest participation rate since the event’s inception in 2017, according to a press release from Danish Regions.

The eighth iteration of “Open Hospital,” a nationwide open house event, offered diverse activities across the country.

In Region Zealand, specifically at Holbæk Hospital, attendees had the opportunity to learn basic skin suturing techniques.

Meanwhile, in Copenhagen, visitors were able to explore the Capital Region’s Emergency Services, where they were treated to a demonstration of emergency vehicles and their flashing blue lights. Participants were allowed inside the various emergency vehicles.
