The Austrian team, featuring Danish national team players Sebastian Dahm, Jesper Jensen Aabo, and Mathias From, secured the victory despite a hard-fought effort from Odense.
Odense held their own in a scoreless first period. However, Klagenfurt gained momentum in the second period, scoring two quick goals to take a 2-0 lead. Sebastian Fakt scored for Odense, narrowing the gap. Mathias From then assisted Mario Kempe, extending Klagenfurt’s lead to 3-1.
Seven minutes into the third period, a major brawl erupted after a hard hit by Joakim Thelin on Jesper Jensen Aabo. Several players, including Aabo, Thelin, Martin Larsen, From, and Clemens Unterweger, received game misconducts.
Following the brawl, Kevin Karlsson scored for Odense, making it 3-2. Klagenfurt then capitalized on a power play to increase their lead to 4-2, effectively sealing the win.
