An 88-year-old cyclist died after being hit by a car in Humlum, north of Struer, Wednesday evening. According to Midt- and Vestjyllands Politi, the accident occurred when the woman attempted to cross Remmerstrandvej.

Police and rescue services responded to the scene at 8:37 PM. However, the cyclist was pronounced dead at the location.

A vehicle inspector has examined the accident site, and both the bicycle and the car involved have been taken to Aalborg for further investigation. Police duty officer Jan Nørrum stated that the cyclist chose to cross the road for reasons that remain unclear. The woman’s relatives have been informed.
