A 29-year-old woman is in stable condition after being struck by a car on Nordkystvejen in Allingåbro on Djursland. The accident occurred on Friday afternoon, prompting a response that included a medical helicopter.

The woman sustained injuries, including bleeding in the brain and a broken leg, but is not in critical condition, according to duty officer Mikkel Møldrup from East Jutland Police.

Police received the report at 15:28. The woman was walking on the roadside along Nordkystvejen, the main road between Randers and Grenaa, before the incident.

According to initial reports, the woman walked onto the road for unexplained reasons, possibly due to alcohol influence. She was then hit by a passing car that was unable to avoid her. The impact threw her over the car, resulting in head and leg injuries.

Authorities are awaiting the car inspector’s report and additional witness statements to further investigate the circumstances. A dashcam recording from the driver’s car supports the driver’s account of the incident. Nordkystvejen is known to be busy during commute times.
