A 38-year-old man has been remanded in custody for 14 days following a preliminary hearing in Kolding on Wednesday.
The man is suspected of abducting his two children, aged eight and ten, and taking them out of the country, thereby evading the mother’s custody.
South East Jutland Police announced the preliminary hearing on the social media platform X.
According to reports, the alleged abduction occurred sometime before August 22nd.
Authorities believe the children were taken to Chechnya.
Prior to the hearing being closed to the public, it was revealed that the father had sent an email to the children’s Danish school.
In the email, he stated that the children would be attending school in Chechnya from now on.
