A 40-year-old woman has been remanded in custody for four weeks following a knife attack on a police officer in Grindsted. The incident occurred on Wednesday in an apartment on Grønningen, leading to the officer being hospitalized.
The South East Jutland Police initially charged the woman with attempted murder, but the judge in the Court in Horsens found no reasonable suspicion of intent to murder during Thursday’s court hearing. Instead, the judge believes there is a reasonable suspicion that the woman committed violence of a particularly dangerous nature.
The police officer, who was struck several times, received treatment and is now out of danger.
During the incident, police fired a warning shot immediately after the knife attack. The 40-year-old woman pleaded not guilty in Thursday’s court hearing. The police have not released specific details about the circumstances, referring to it as a police matter.
