A woman in Grindsted, Denmark, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a police officer multiple times with a knife on Wednesday. The South East Jutland Police announced the charge in a press release on Thursday, prior to the woman’s court hearing.

The incident occurred late Wednesday morning, during which police discharged their firearms. The injured officer received medical treatment and is now out of danger.

A judge in the Court in Horsens will determine on Thursday whether there is sufficient suspicion to support the attempted murder charge, or if the incident should be considered dangerous violence. The court will also decide whether the 40-year-old woman should be held in custody.
