A man has been seriously injured and airlifted to Rigshospitalet (Copenhagen University Hospital) following a head-on collision on Sønder Bjergevej in Dalmose near Slagelse on Thursday afternoon.
According to Bo Georg Pedersen, duty officer at South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police, the accident, involving two cars, occurred at 16:04. The man, who was driving one of the vehicles, was trapped in his car and sustained serious injuries.
A woman and her daughter, who were in the other car, were transported by ambulance to Slagelse Hospital. They sustained what are believed to be minor injuries.
Police have cordoned off the area and called in a car inspector to investigate the circumstances of the accident. The car inspector will assess factors such as speed and braking to determine the cause of the collision.
Authorities anticipate the road closure to remain in effect for approximately another half hour as of 18:10. Relatives of those involved have been notified. The cause of the head-on collision on the narrow country road is currently unknown.
