Copenhagen Airport Reports Record Passenger Numbers and Increased Revenue in First Half of 2025

Copenhagen Airport (CPH) has announced a successful first half of 2025, marked by record passenger numbers and an increase in revenue. The airport’s financial statement, released Wednesday, reveals a total revenue exceeding 2.5 billion kroner, an eight percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The company’s profit before tax reached 595 million kroner, surpassing the 491 million kroner profit recorded in the first half of the previous year. This financial success is largely attributed to the significant surge in passenger traffic at Copenhagen Airport in Kastrup.

During the first six months of the year, the airport served 14.9 million passengers, marking the highest number of travelers ever recorded in that period. “I am satisfied with the result for the first six months. It is as expected, and the number of travelers follows our forecast,” stated Christian Poulsen, Director of Copenhagen Airport, in a press release.

A notable trend is the increase in transfer passengers using Copenhagen Airport as a hub for onward journeys. In the first half of the year, 3.3 million transfer passengers passed through the airport, representing a 23 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Poulsen highlighted the strategic importance of this growth, stating, “The increase means that we are solidifying our position as Northern Europe’s largest traffic hub. More than one in five travelers who come through the airport are in transfer and on their way further out into the world.”
