Southeast Jutland Police have searched 52 people and made multiple arrests after establishing two search zones in Horsens following a stabbing incident on August 21st. The search zones were implemented after an assault with a stabbing weapon at Horsens train station, resulting in injuries to two individuals.
The police have opened several cases as a result of the searches, including two cases of violations of the Weapons Act, two cases of narcotics offenses, two cases of violations of the Knives Act, and one case of violations of the Fireworks Act.
In connection with the stabbing, three men were arrested. While two have been released, one remains in custody for four weeks. The three men face charges under section 81a of the Penal Code, often referred to as the gang paragraph, which can result in double punishment if the assault is related to group conflict.
Separately, outside the designated search zones, a 20-year-old man was arrested and immediately sentenced to five months in prison for repeated violations of the Knives Act and the Weapons Ordinance.
Police Commissioner Mikael Gadeberg stated that the increased police presence is both preventative and creates security among citizens. The police encourage anyone experiencing offensive behavior or feeling unsafe to contact them. The search zones are currently set to expire on September 22nd at 5:00 PM but may be extended if deemed necessary.
