The Danish citizenship test, administered on Tuesday at 46 language centers nationwide, featured questions about Danish history, culture, and current affairs. Applicants must answer at least 36 of the 45 multiple-choice questions correctly to pass.
The test, released by the Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (Siri), includes questions such as “Queen Mary is originally from which country?” and “What was adopted with the constitutional amendment in 1915?”.
Other questions covered a range of topics, including the accomplishments of film director Susanne Bier, the author of the 1943 novel “Barndommens Gade,” and the location of the royal burial site for most Danish kings and queens.
Five of the questions focus on current events that have been widely reported in Danish media. This ensures that new citizens have a basic understanding of contemporary issues in Denmark.
