Members of the Danish Parliament are set to receive a salary increase, raising their annual pay from approximately 870,000 kroner to 1.08 million kroner. This change has been widely reported by TV 2, Ekstra Bladet, and Altinget.
In exchange for the salary increase, politicians will experience a reduction in their pension schemes. Going forward, they will receive pension contributions equivalent to about 18 percent of their salary.
The changes to salary and pension will not affect the terms of current members of parliament. The new regulations will apply to future terms.
