Two new episodes of the documentary series “The Black Swan” are set to be released this summer, focusing on the collaboration between the police and the mole, Amira Smajic. The series previously exposed extensive and serious crime, including money laundering, using hidden cameras.
The original documentary, released about a year ago, mapped connections between the criminal underworld and various professionals such as lawyers, contractors, and business people, with Smajic acting as an informant.
TV 2 faced criticism for omitting the fact that Smajic was also working with the police, leading to accusations of presenting a false picture of unchecked criminal activity. Critics, including former Minister of Justice Søren Pind, argued that this omission was a significant oversight.
TV 2 initially justified the omission due to concerns for Smajic’s safety. However, the network now says that Smajic has publicly revealed material documenting her police collaboration, making the previous agreement to protect her obsolete.
Michael Nørgaard, editor-in-chief of TV 2 Documentary, stated that they are now free to address Smajic’s police collaboration journalistically. The new episodes will largely revolve around this collaboration. TV 2 has not yet disclosed specific details about the content of the upcoming episodes.
