Five municipalities in Jutland generated approximately 27 percent of Denmark’s total solar power production between April 2024 and April 2025, according to data from Energinet.
Aabenraa, Vejle, Viborg, Ringkøbing, and Holstebro lead the nation in solar energy contribution, topping a list ranking all 98 municipalities based on their solar energy output.
According to David Hartz, chief consultant at Energinet, the high production in these municipalities is due to their large geographical size, which allows for the installation of extensive solar parks.
Lolland, Faxe, Lemvig, and Randers follow closely behind the top five municipalities in solar energy production.
