Swedish Teenager Faces Attempted Murder Charges in Copenhagen Barber Shop Shooting

An 18-year-old Swedish national is facing charges of attempted murder related to a shooting incident at a barber shop in Copenhagen last year, according to Copenhagen Police. The suspect is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at Copenhagen City Court.

The incident occurred on April 29 at a barber shop located on Sankt Hans Torv in Nørrebro, Copenhagen. The 18-year-old is accused of attempting to shoot an individual inside the barber shop.

The attempted murder was unsuccessful because the barber shop door was locked, preventing the suspect from gaining entry. Following the failed attempt, the perpetrator fled the scene.

Authorities believe the attempted murder was a contract killing linked to a conflict between two rival gang groups. Police assess that the 18-year-old was commissioned to carry out the shooting as part of this gang-related dispute.

The suspect was previously detained in Sweden but was extradited to Denmark. He was extradited to Denmark on Monday to face the charges.
