A 62-year-old man has been charged with arson after a fire engulfed his home on Rørsangervej in Viborg on Thursday. The Central and West Jutland Police responded to a report of the fire at 5:47 PM and dispatched firefighters and police patrols to the scene.

The man, who resides at the address where the fire occurred, was arrested shortly after 6:00 PM. Another individual was also arrested but later released after questioning.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday in the Court in Viborg. Maria Jensen, acting police commissioner at the local police in Viborg stated that investigations were conducted and quickly lead to suspecting the man of starting the fire.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
