A 19-year-old Swedish man has been remanded in custody for four weeks following his extradition from Sweden in connection with a hand grenade attack on a pizzeria in Søborg. The decision was announced by prosecutor Christoffer Petersen from the Copenhagen West Police prosecution service on Thursday.
The man’s extradition occurred on Wednesday. The charges stem from an incident on March 24th when an explosion and fire engulfed a pizzeria in Søborg.
Following the incident, the 19-year-old was imprisoned in absentia three months later. The indictment alleges that he threw a hand grenade at the pizzeria, directly causing the explosion and subsequent fire.
In addition to the charges related to the grenade attack, the 19-year-old also faces charges under the gang paragraph. This provision allows for the doubling of sentences in cases of gang-related crime.
