TV 2 employees in Odense were evacuated Thursday morning following a bomb threat received around 10:00 AM. Fyns Politi (Funen Police) responded to the scene at Kvægtorvet after TV 2 reported the threat.
Police have closed Rugårdsvej in Odense due to the evacuation.
TV 2 confirmed the threat in a written statement, saying, “We can confirm that a bomb threat has been sent to TV 2 on Kvægtorvet in Odense. The police are present and the employees have been evacuated. We have no further information at this time.” Employees were alerted to the threat via SMS message, which instructed them to leave the building through the nearest safe exit, following police instructions.
Fyns Politi is currently investigating the threat’s origin and deploying bomb dogs to search the Kvægtorvet building. According to communications advisor Mads Boel, the dog search is expected to take at least an hour. “TV 2 received a threat by email, and we have moved out and initiated an evacuation of Kvægtorvet. We cannot say anything at this time about what the threat is about,” Boel stated. Police are working to determine the credibility of the threat.
