Two Arrests Made in Herning Stabbing Murder Case

Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a 21-year-old Somali woman in Herning that occurred approximately three months ago. The Central and West Jutland Police announced the arrests in a press release.

The arrested individuals are an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, both of whom are charged with complicity in the murder.

Police Commissioner Theis Thylstrup, the investigation leader, stated that he cannot elaborate on the specific roles the police believe the arrested individuals played in the crime.

The 21-year-old woman was stabbed on April 7th on Gormsvej in Herning, in an area with several apartment buildings. The incident occurred around 9 p.m.

Passers-by alerted the police and provided first aid to the young woman, but unfortunately, she could not be saved.

A young man was reportedly seen running from the scene of the crime. It remains unclear whether the police believe this individual is one of the two who have been arrested.

The arrested individuals are currently being questioned. It is not yet known whether they will be brought before a preliminary hearing.

Police have confirmed that both of the arrested individuals are from the local area.

About a month after the woman’s death, the investigation leader mentioned that the police had received numerous inquiries from the public regarding the case. He also noted that the National Unit for Special Crime’s (NSK) department for quality assurance of homicide cases was providing assistance, which is standard procedure in homicide investigations.
