Danish Tabloid Editorial on Immigration Gains International Attention After Being Shared by Charlie Kirk

A Danish tabloid editorial advocating for remigration and stricter immigration policies has sparked international debate after being shared by U.S. conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The B.T. editorial, originally published last week, argues that immigration from the Middle East should be halted and that individuals from the Middle East without Danish citizenship should be sent out of Denmark.

The editorial gained traction when Kirk, a prominent Trump supporter, shared it with his large following on X, claiming it demonstrates that U.S. political developments are resonating globally. Kirk highlighted the editorial’s assertion that “population replacement through migration is a political choice.”

The editorial, titled “B.T. believes: They should not be integrated. They should go home,” expresses concern that Danes could become a minority in their own country. It states that “It is simply not acceptable if we end up in a situation where Danes are a minority in their own country.”

Joachim B. Olsen, B.T.’s debate editor, is reportedly behind the editorial, which was inspired by the media’s weekly podcast “Bourgeois Tabloid”. The editorial references a demographic projection published by Politiken, which suggests that immigrants and their descendants could become the majority in Denmark by 2096 if current trends continue.

During the podcast, Mikkel Bjørn, the Danish People’s Party’s spokesperson on foreigners, allegedly stated that it would be unacceptable for Danes to become a minority. The B.T. editorial echoes this sentiment, emphasizing that population replacement is a “real risk” requiring action and remigration.
